Troop #159 showering their leader in love

Leader Appreciation Day

If you belong to a Frontier Girls Troop or Quest Club, don’t forget that Leader Appreciation Day is Feb. 20. In honor of Sandy Yearwood who was the inspiration behind our programs we celebrate all leaders on her birthday. This is your chance to say “thank you” for all the hard work you leader puts in so that the kids in their troop/club have an amazing educational experience.

Black History Month

February is Black History month. This is a great time to earn the new Black History badge. Learn about everything from the struggles of slavery and the civil rights movement to the amazing accomplishments of famous black Americans. From artists, athletes, inventors, musicians, politicians and more, learn about the contributions of Black Americans throughout our history.

2023 SWAPS

If you registered for our 2023 SWAPS event please make sure to watch your email next week. I will be sending out SWAP partners and instructions. Every year we have a few people sign up and then not send out any SWAPS which leads to disappointed kids. If you signed up to participate, please make sure to do so! If you have any questions regarding the SWAPS program, please email me at kerry@curiosityuntamed.com so we can get them sorted out as quickly as possible. Have fun making new friends!

Frontier Girls Scholarships

Just a reminder that if you are a Frontier Girl age 16-22 who has earned either your WOW! Award at the Eagle or Owl level or the Diamond or Grey Diamond Award, you qualify to apply for one or more of our three Frontier Girls continuing education scholarships. These scholarships are open to Frontier Girls members only as they are sponsored by the estate of Sandy Yearwood specifically for that purpose. Frozen S’Mores

Submitted by Megan Lundquist

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 box instant chocolate pudding 6 serving size
  • 2.5 cups cold milk
  • 16 graham crackers
  • 7 oz marshmallow creme
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 8 oz frozen whipped topping thawed

INSTRUCTIONS:

Line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper or foil. Use enough to allow the paper to overhang pan.

Whisk together pudding mix and milk until smooth and creamy. Pour your pan and spread into an even layer. Chill for 5 minutes.

Beat together cream cheese and marshmallow cream until smooth. Fold in whipping topping. Spread marshmallow layer over chocolate layer.

Cover with foil and freeze for 6 hours or until firm enough to cut through. Remove the foil. Grab the hanging parchment paper and use to remove layers from 9×13 pan and place on a cutting board.

Break 15 graham crackers in half. Slice pudding/marshmallow layers into 15 squares the same size as the graham cracker halves. If your layers have frozen very hard you may want to wait 15 minutes before slicing.

Sandwich layers in between two graham crackers.

Eat right away or store sandwiches in the freezer in an airtight bag or container. Graham crackers will soften slightly if stored in the freezer much like a traditional ice-cream sandwich.

You can add things to the cream cheese layer, such as sprinkles, or 3/4 cups crushed candy canes. Get creative!
